🥇 Arlington Swimmer Wins Gold(s) in Paris

Yorktown High School alum Torri Huske took first in the women’s 100-meter butterfly last week. This win comes after missing the podium in the same event by just 0.01 in Tokyo. Huske also won gold anchoring the women’s 4×100 Medley and in the mixed (men’s + women’s) 4×100 medley. Her total medal count now sits at 6

Arlington County is rolling out composting bins as part of a food scraps pilot program. There will be more than a dozen bins installed in Ballston, Arlington Mill, Rosslyn and more. You can find compost locations by downloading the “BigBelly Smart Compost” app.

Last week Noah Lyles won gold in Paris in the 100-meter final by FIVE THOUSANDTHS of a second. That’s .005 for those of you keeping track at home. He is an Alexandria City High School (formerly T.C. Williams) alumni. Friends and family celebrated the win at Pork Barrel BBQ in Del Ray.
