🍻 Shirlington Clubhouse “1969” - Shirlington Village - Opens Friday ICYMI:The basement bar underneath Astro Beer Hall opened last weekend!
🦀 Kiln - Old Town (not Arlington, I know - Opened early August This “hearth-inspired” restaurant serves Mid-Atlantic grub and looks worth a try. They have crudo galore and I’m particularly interested in trying the smoked mussels! Located 6 blocks from the waterfront off of King Street.
🥟 District Dumpling - Pentagon City Mall - Opened last weekend District Dumpling and Kung Fu Tea opened its flagship location in the Fashion Centre last weekend. It’s one of four location in the DC area and the only sit-down version.
🐷 Green Pig - Clarendon - Moving down the street in September
The Green Pig is moving from Fillmore Street to a space next to Buena Vida in Clarendon. The Fillmore location closes in September and it’s unclear when the new one will open, or which storefront it will occupy. This is a neighborhood favorite. I hope they get a better space!

Construction on a 9-story Virginia Square office building is now finished After 12 years of off and on development it’s finally done. It has its own plaza and boasts 10,000 square feet of ground floor retail space
Arlington County is set to honor Olympic swim champion Torri Huske with a special recognition event, celebrating her 5 medals in Paris. The event will take place on Sunday August 25 @ 3PM at Long Bridge Pool Park.
Veterinarian Good Vets to open underneath the Grace and Reva in Crystal City. It will join Tatte and ice cream shop Van Leeuwen in the new retail space. A Dry Bar is expected to open in the same space this fall.

Federal spending bill prioritizes affordable housing and workspace development in Arlington. The draft of the Senate bill includes $125 million for development across Virginia. It seeks to appropriate spending for low-income healthcare and to redevelop the Glebe Goodwill into affordable housing
Arlington County added 10 new speed cameras to deter speeding in school zones last week. Starting September 25th, anyone caught on the cameras will be fined $100

Our on-location Bagel reporter tried Wagama and said it was delicious! (s/o my Fiancé)

I try some fried oreos at the Arlington Fair. The oreos were great, the fair was not as impressive…
