šŸˆšŸ· The Commanders Game (Sunday @ 3PM)

ICYMI I wrote this guide on watching the Commanders in ARl last week. Here it is again because we won!

  • First Down Sports Bar (Ballston) I watched some NFL games here last sunday and itā€™s my favorite Arlington Sports Bar now. Zero frills, fast service, a zillion TVs and solid wings. This is my top choice and where Iā€™ll be watching on Saturday. On Sunday the bar filled with Philly fans 20 minutes before their game. I would err on side of caution and get there 45 minutes early to grab a table.

  • Astro Beer Hall (Shirlington) Astro Beer hall has lots of TVs, bar options and solid bartenders. The last ā€˜Manders game we watched here they had $5 smashburgers and chicken sandwiches + fries. Good food and good deal. Bartenders are also solid here.

  • on the big screen at Dudleyā€™s (Shirlington) Dudleyā€™s is a duel threat because they have a giant screen downstairs and a solid rooftop. This place will be very crowded.

  • on the silver screen at Arlington Drafthouse I always plug Arlington Drafthouse in here because I think it has a lot of character. It would be cool to watch the Commies on a movie theater screen and thereā€™s a bar here. I canā€™t imagine this will be very crowded

  • Oā€™sullivanā€™s (Clarendon) This is my Clarendon pick for watching sports. It gets packed which can be fun or annoying. But importantly thereā€™s multiple places to watch the game so if you get tired of the vibe at the front bar you can move to the projector in the back or vice versa.

  • Quinnā€™s on the Corner (Rossyln) This was my favorite bar right out of college. The staff and the food is goated. I watched many a Nats World Series game here. This is going to be packed so you may be standing for the game. But they usually do free jello shots after scores so itā€™ll be worth it.

šŸ½ļø Restaurant News

  • Bagel Crew Card make sure you preorder your discount card before they sell out. Weā€™re only selling 100 and theyā€™re flying off the shelves. Preorder yours here. Also, Iā€™m hand-delivering them so youā€™ll get the added bonus of a sweaty guy with an Arlington Bagel hat showing up at your door.

  • šŸ“ Winter Restaurant Week So we got the date wrong last week. Winter Restaurant Week is actually January 27-Feb. 2, 2025. I would definitely check out Salt, Sfoglina or Carbonara if you havenā€™t. Full list of participating restaurants can be found here.
